PRODUKSI TANAMAN DAN NILAI KESETARAAN LAHAN DALAM TUMPANG SARI SORGUM (SORGHUM BICOLOR (L.) MOENCH.) DENGAN KEDELAI (GLYCINE MAX (L.) MERR.)

(Crops Production and Land Equivalent Ratio Gained from The Intercroping of Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench.) and Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.)
A field experiment has been conducted to study the influence of sorghum spacing dan kinds of soybean intercropped on the growth, yield components, and production of crops and land equivalent ratio.The experiment was arranged in randomized block design with three replicates and eight treatments. Results of the experiment showed that vegetative growth, yield components, and production of crops and land equivalent ratio were influenced by the treatment used. In monoculture, the production of dry grain of Wilis soybean (2.5 kg/plot) was not different to that achieved by Arksoy soybean (2.4 kg/plot). When it was intercropped with sorghum of 80 cm x 40 cm spacing, the production of dry grain of Wilis soybean (1.6 kg/plot) was significantly higher than that produced by Arksoy soybean (0.9 kg/plot). The reversed was happened when the spacing of sorghum was 120 cm x 40 cm and the Wilis and Arksoy soybeans produced dry grain of 1.1 and 1.7, respectively. The dry production of sorghum grain gained by the two spacing treatments was not influenced by the intercropping of soybeans, neither Wilis nor Arksoy (their production ranged from 2.34 to 2.64 kg/plot, which were not significantly different one to each other). A high land equivalent ratio was gained by intercropping of sorghum of 80 cm x 40 cm spacing with Wilis soybean (=1.60) and by intercropping of sorghum of 120 cm x 40 xm spacing with Arksoy soybean (=1.98), which both were significantly different one to each other.To get a proper intercropping, it is suggested to plant Rhio sorghum of either 120 cm x 40 cm spacing with Arksoy or 80 cm x 40 cm spacing with Wilis.
